Project Pro-Roe

WHY WE'RE HERE

OUR VISION

We're Young Activists Working To Amplify Our Voices

The Supreme Court of the United States effectively removed constitutional protections of abortion with the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision on June 24th, 2022. Following the case, 8 states have banned abortion with no exceptions in any circumstance, and in the coming months, half of the United States could see a total ban on abortion.

Project Pro-Roe works to form a synchronized movement to assemble for our rights. We fight for a world where abortion is stigma-free and accessible regardless of income level, insurance coverage, or zip code.

OUR OBJECTIVES

WE FACILITATE DIRECT ACTION

Polls have found that over 50% of Americans saw the Dobbs decision as a step backward for America, given that a 61% majority of U.S. adults believe that abortion should be legal in all or most cases.

We are outraged, and will not sit quietly after such an injustice. Through rapid, large-scale mobilization, we work to provide an outlet for youth to advocate for reproductive justice, and call for change. Protests have historically been led by the people for the people, and work towards producing change through influencing voting behaviors, expressing dissent, and manifesting an urgent need for action.

Project Pro-Roe will guide youth activists towards becoming advocates for their communities. Our voices will be heard.

OUR POLICY DEMANDS

01.

— CONGRESS MUST CODIFY ROE V. WADE

Codifying Roe V. Wade would create federal legislation that protects abortion access. Congress must be representative of citizens needs, and the current majority calls for federal protection of abortion.

02.

— STATE LEGISLATURES SHOULD BE REPRESENTATIVE

Democracy works for us. Citizens must vote for candidates on a community and state-wide scale to facilitate change. Individuals should fight for legally-protected abortion access through the power of their votes.

03.

— REPEAL THE HYDE AMENDMENT

The Hyde Amendment prohibits people enrolled in Medicare, Medicaid, and other health insurance programs from using federal funds to pay for abortions, essentially  denying the right to choose for low-income individuals. It must be repealed in order to make reproductive justice accessible to all.
